CM Podcast - April 13th, 2010

In today's podcast, I power my way through a cold, talk about some exciting local events happening this week, defend the honor of beer, and discuss wormholes, the new Nets owner, and a dream about Frank Sinatra's funeral. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN

Video Diary - Phil Hughes pt.3

Latest progress on the Phil Hughes painting I'm doing for Kevin Rozell over @ Zell's Pinstripe Blog. Listen to me tell the story of why there's a chance the pic I'm using as a reference may have been taken on my 30th birthday.

Food, Booze, and Art this Thursday

Hey, kids! If you wanna see me paint live (and really, what could be more exciting than that?) head on down to the Atlantic Club in Manasquan Thursday night for the Jersey Shore Restaurant Week kick-off party. There's gonna be a ton of local joints offering up food and drinks along with myself and some other artists creating some artistic interpretation of it all. Afterward, the pieces will be raffled off, with half the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the other half to the artists themselves (two worthy causes if ever there were any). Tickets are $30 online and $35 at the door. It should be a helluva time, and you'll get to see me argue with a canvas for a few hours as I pretend I know what the hell I'm doing when I paint. Click here for more info.

Win a CM "Pinstriped Dreams" Print Wed!

This Wed I'll be at the Business After Hours & Networking event at Rooney's right here in Long Branch. It's a free event where you'll be able to meet a lot of great people, including yours truly. But, even better than the opportunity to meet me in person (no touching or pictures, though, please), will be the chance to win a framed print of my legendary "Pinstriped Dreams" drawing, a depiction of a young Little League aged Derek Jeter surrounded by a montage of some his great Yankee moment. For more info on the event and to RSVP, head on over here.

Video Diary - Phil Hughes pt.2

I sing a li'l Sinatra and drops some knowledge about the importance of composition and line of action as I continue work on my painting of Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes for Kevin of Zell's Pinstripe Blog.

Video Diary - Phil Hughes pt.1

I've been commissioned by Kevin Rozell of the great "Zell's Pinstripe Blog" to do a painting of Yankees' pitcher Phil Hughes and I've decided to document the process with a series of video diaries. This could be really entertaining and informative or really corny and stupid. You decide:

To tide you over the next couple of days, here's a video of my dog playing basketball. http://twitvid.com/FWB4F

New CM Studios Coming Soon!

Well, not entirely new, but the website and blog are going to be getting a facelift, the podcasts are going to be bigger and better, and the entire online "Craig Mahoney experience" (yeah, that sounds pretty pompous and douchey, but I can't think of a better way to put it) will get better and run smoother.

I'm in the process of installing a new operating system and a bunch of new software on my computer, reorganizing all my online content, and putting together a few new projects that you kids are gonna love.

Keep checking this blog and follow my twitter feed to follow my trials and tribulations in getting it all together, and, if you like what you're seeing, please tell your friends and maybe even click the donate button to the left and drop a penny in the till. Thanks, kids. You know I love ya!

In today's podcast I refrain from April Fool's Day pranks, discuss some awesome suicide methods, read a little from the NY Daily News gossip column, stick up for my old pal George Lucas, review the movie "Fanboys", and discuss why you can't have a 12 inch penis. As always, beware of naughty language.

Yankees Flickr Gallery

I've officially begun moving content from craigmahoney.com to various other hosting websites such as flickr. Craigmahoney.com will now act as a gateway to take you to this blog, my art on flickr, music on myspace (if I can't find something better), videos on youtube, and social media sites like twitter and facebook. It'll probably take me a week or so to set it all up, but you can see my Yankee art gallery on flickr now.

The Pool Or The Pond...

The pond would be good for you.

Apparently, it's good enough for Mickey. In other news, there's a lot of fuckin' rain in NJ.

Monday's Pen, Pencil & Brush Strokes

Yesterday was not the most productive day in the studio, as is evidenced by the half-assed podcast I stumbled and mumbled through, but I did get a few things done here and there: Laying in some shadow on Frank, getting some more details in Jack, and - what the hell? - Batman.

Podcast: Mon 03/29/10

In my latest 'cast I fumble through my irreverent Atheist take on Passover and Easter, explain why too many comic books and movies may be warping my thinking, and finish with a tale of DIY at-home dentistry.

The Babe

Here's another pen & marker drawing I did. It's another famous Yankee. His name was George Herman "Babe" Ruth. You may have heard of him.

I'm selling this one, and the Jeter from a previous post, for $75. If you wanna commission a drawing like this for yourself, prices start @ $50.

I gotta say, I love the look of these pieces. I'm gonna be doing a lot more of them.

CM Podcast - Mar 26, 2010

In my latest podcast I talk about my weird dreams, failing at meditation, NJ Gov. Christie's education budget, the NFL's new overtime rule, missing the best NCAA tourney ever, and I introduce the world to the new QPM (Quotes Per Minute) movie rating system.
