Food, Booze, and Art this Thursday

Hey, kids! If you wanna see me paint live (and really, what could be more exciting than that?) head on down to the Atlantic Club in Manasquan Thursday night for the Jersey Shore Restaurant Week kick-off party. There's gonna be a ton of local joints offering up food and drinks along with myself and some other artists creating some artistic interpretation of it all. Afterward, the pieces will be raffled off, with half the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the other half to the artists themselves (two worthy causes if ever there were any). Tickets are $30 online and $35 at the door. It should be a helluva time, and you'll get to see me argue with a canvas for a few hours as I pretend I know what the hell I'm doing when I paint. Well, not entirely new, but the website and blog are going to be getting a facelift, the podcasts are going to be bigger and better, and the entire online "Craig Mahoney experience" (yeah, that sounds pretty pompous and douchey, but I can't think of a better way to put it) will get better and run smoother.

I'm in the process of installing a new operating system and a bunch of new software on my computer, reorganizing all my online content, and putting together a few new projects that you kids are gonna love.

Whither CraigMahoney.com?

The last week or two 'round the studio, I've been spending time trying to refocus my career a bit and to simplify and streamline things here @ CMHQ. One of the things I'm considering is, rather than finish building the last few pages of craigmahoney.com, completely tearing the thing down. I'd redirect the homepage to this blog, use Flickr to host my portfolio, and host any music I record on MySpace Music. I'd still keep my webhosting account and use it to host my podcast, which I'd post up here, and an online store for all my original art. Any t-shirts or prints I wanted to sell would be through Zazzle or RedBubble.

Now, while that would certainly be simpler for me, would it be easier for you out there in webland? Would you find that too difficult to figure out and navigate? Would it look less professional? I don't look at it as being more complicated because, instead of having to build a number of different pages for my site, I'd just upload content to various websites. The links page at the side of this blog would take the place of the menu on my website. So, what say you? I really do want feedback. Post in the comments below or hit me up facebook and twitter.

Over the course of the week I'll be auctioning off just about every piece of art I still have in my possession on eBay. One of the reasons is, obviously, to raise some much needed dough. The other is that, frankly most of these pieces were created with the specific intention to fill holes in my portfolio. Now that that's done it's time to clear the inventory and get started on some new stuff. So, take a peek over at my seller's page. This could be a great opportunity to pick up some cool memorabilia and big ticket items for a real cheap price, although I'm rooting against that. Personally I hope the bidding hits the low ten thousands.

Here's a press release I wanted to pass along for another great art show opening in the Monmouth/Jersey Shore area this weekend. The Guild is a cool place and a great resource for local artists. You should definitely check it out.

2010 EyeSights Photography Show Opens at the Guild of Creative Art

The 7th Annual EyeSights Open Juried Photography show, one of the premier photography shows in New Jersey, will have its opening reception at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury on Sunday, March 7, from 3 - 5 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 4:00. The show will include both monochrome and color photography and work in traditional, digital, or combination styles. The show will run through March 31^st.

Ricardo Barros, an internationally recognized artist, educator and mentor, was the judge for the show. He has been the photographer-in-residence at Grounds for Sculpture since its inception. Barros' personal work is in the permanent collection of ten museums, including the Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The Guild of Creative Art is located at 620 Broad Street, in Shrewsbury (across from The Grove). The hours are Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Thursday to 7:00 p.m.) and Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The reception is free and the public is warmly welcomed to attend. Most of you who follow the various things I do here on the interwebs are aware of my status as a starving artist, as well as the "donate" button on the left of this page. However, I've been a little cagey about the true nature of the dire financial straits I'm in here. Unfortunately, I've been out of work for nearly 3 months with rapidly dwindling resources and little-to-no income. If I can't come up with the rent by the end of this month, I will find myself without a place to live or work. That means no more Craig Mahoney Studios. So, I'm asking all of you who read this blog, who follow me on facebook and twitter, and generally enjoy the art, music, and insanity I produce, to throw a couple of bucks in the till to keep this train rolling.

Now, I'm not asking for charity. I'm asking people to donate some money so that I can keep producing something they enjoy. In turn, I'll keep up my end of the bargain by bringing you even more; new art, music, videos, podcasts and blog posts.

In April, I'll be part of three public art exhibitions and be making my debut as a singer/songwriter with a new band. For the next month and a half I'll be documenting my preparations for these events and my struggles to keep CM Studios going in regular video diaries. I don't know if I'll be able to post a new one every day, but I'm gonna try. You're gonna be in on the band rehearsals, and the drawing and painting process as I mess around with some stylistic changes and new directions in my work. Whether these video diaries become a document of the end of my career or its new beginning remains to be seen.

So, please, if you can spare a couple of bucks to make a donation or buy a t-shirt, drawing, or painting, it will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. And, if you do like what it is I do here, please be sure to spread the word. Thanks.

Here's lyrics and video for a song I recently penned. It's a song about one of those long, lonely nights when your only company is the dog and a bottle, and all you can think about is the one that got away. The more you try to drink her off your mind, the more you can't keep your mind off of her. It's one of those songs. It's a bit dark, but I like it. Let me know what you think, boys and girls.

I'm gonna try and collect them in little blog posts along with a sentence or two of commentary from me on each. So, here are your inaugural Monday morning links:

Do You Believe In Non-Miraculous But Still Extremely Impressive Upsets? by Joe DeLessio, from NYMag.com, on last night's thrilling USA upset victory over Canada in men's Olympic hockey. I only got to read tweets about as it was happening because I'm a broke-ass artist still trying to pool together enough dough to turn my cable back on. If I wasn't a sports fan I wouldn't miss live TV at all. Even without it, I've still been able to get to a bar or friend or relatives house to catch the games I really want to see, but last night was proof of how great sports is. You never know when you're gonna see something truly great or historic. Also, congrats to NBC on airing the most thrilling event of the games so far on MSNBC where plenty of people without cable missed it and, maybe more importantly, plenty others missed it in HD. That's the way to appeal to sports fans in 2010.

The NY Post's Joel Sherman has the whole story on the Yankees signing pitcher Chan Ho Park. I like the move. A nice, relatively inexpensive pickup that could add more depth to the bullpen.

Here's a cool little post, with audio, from Cartoon Brew on San Francisco singer/songwriter Meagan Lynch's debut album "Songs the Brothers Warner Taught Me", which is a collection of classic American pop tunes made famous by early Looney Tune and Merry Melodies cartoons. Read more about it, and listen to the whole thing, at the Brew.

And, from the NY Times, comes this story on a conceptual art installation currently in Vancouver for the Olympics, that's a recreation of a bar in Belfast. That's right. They rebuilt The Whole. Fucking. Bar. Senator Blutarsky has nominated artist Theo Sims for a McArthur genius grant.

Buy Now - Eli's Escape

I'm currently in the middle of building an online store, where you'll be able to purchase all my new and unsold original art with a few clicks of your mouse. Until I get that up and running, though, I'm going to post a new piece each day along with the PayPal link to purchase it. Although I'll be featuring a different item every day, every piece will remain for sale, until it's, you know, sold. So, you'll be able to come back to each post at anytime, click the "Buy Now" button, and purchase the item whenever you feel like it.

The first item up for sale is "Eli's Escape", my 36"x24" acrylic painting on canvas featuring Eli Manning about to make the pass for the famous "Helmet Catch" in Super Bowl 42. The piece is also autographed by Eli, with the signature certified by In The Game Collectibles. Now, an extremely detailed piece like this, with over two months of labor put into it, and autographed by a Super Bowl MVP, should sell for a couple of grand at least. But, since I know that's an extremely prohibitive price for most people, and because, let's face it, I'm a broke-ass, starving artist trying to jump start operations here at Craig Mahoney Studios and can use any dough I get... I'm offering it to one lucky duck for a mere $800. Craig Mahoney & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Podcast

Last week I finally recorded my first podcast. It went well, as far as 1st podcasts go. Basically, it's 34 min. of me emptying my brain into a microphone. I was a bit nervous and didn't get to a few things I had wanted to, and, around the 20 min. mark, I spend about 5 min. dancing around a point on American anti-intellectualism without ever quite nailing it. However, I was pleased enough to release it to the general public, and you can listen to it (and all future podcasts) at craigmahoney.mypodcast.com.

I've begun lining up guests for future podcasts and was lucky enough to have as my 1st guest Laura Gesin, the Jersey Shore social networking maven & founder of VoxPopNJ. We spent a great hour talking about a great many things, I thanked her for coming, promised to see her @ VPNJ's next event, and then sat down to mix down and upload the podcast. Unfortunately, the recording that I encountered was, to use a technical term, "completely and utterly fucked". I won't get into all the techie aspects, but I could not release what I heard to the public.

Here's my first attempt at posting a video of some of my original music. This is a song I wrote awhile ago called "A Toast To The Lonely". It's a little Irish drinking song, and still my favorite of any song I've ever written, although some of the stuff I'm working on now may take it's place. I actually shot a few different takes of this and there were others with better guitar & vocals, but this one had the special unscripted appearance by The Mick. Ultimately, I had to pick the one with the dog. Enjoy, kids!

In between trying to figure out how to transfer all my old files, fonts, and programs from my old computer to my new(er) one, which basically means staring at the screen like a virgin boy trying to figure out how to undo his girlfriend's bra for the first time, I managed to sketch out an idea I have for an upcoming piece. It's gonna be a little group action shot of the greatest heroes that cheap, outsourced 1980's animation could create in order to sell toys: Voltron, Snake Eyes, Optimus Prime, Lion-O, and He-Man. This is one close to my fanboy heart and should turn out pretty cool.

Well, so much for that blog post/drawing everyday shit. My PC started weirding out on me over the weekend, and I've spent the last few days off the grid; cobbling together a replacement to get back online and start putting together all the crap I'd planned for this month. And, yes, I know all you Mac people out there are thinking "That's what you get for owning a PC! If you had a Mac you wouldn't have these problems!" Well, excuse me! Let me just put on my top-hat and monocle, get in my solid gold car, and drive to the store to spend 2 months' rent on a Mac. I'm an artist. I'm poor. So, a PC it is. Dicks. Anywho, here's some really shitty cellphone pics of what I've been up to the last week:.

Let's see... Here's the "Nature Girl" thingy I posted a sketch of awhile back. It's a 36"x48" acrylic, marker, and photo collage mixed media on canvas. You can check it out @ In Spirit Living, 560 Broadway, Long Branch. You can buy it there, too!

We also have some dopey sketches for a piece I want to do of an action spy scene in an early 60's cartoon style. I actually want to do a series of these with private eyes, superheroes, robots, space aliens, and other geeky, pulpy shit.

I don't know who this fat man smoking the cigar is or why I drew him. My mind goes strange places when I'm doodling.

Looking For Podcast Guests

As I mentioned earlier in the week, the Drawing of the Day was just one of the new cockamamie schemes I had cooked up for the new year. The next one I'll be throwing out there will be my own weekly podcast. Basically, it'll be an hourlong talk show with some monologuing (is that a word? monologuing?) from me on my miserable life, sports, news, pop culture, or anything else that's infecting my sick brain at the time. I'm also going to try to bring a new and exciting guest to you each week. I'll be starting out with some artist, musician, and stand-up comic friends of mine, but if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or would like to be on, please drop me a line. Ideally, I'm looking for artists, writers, comedians, musicians, and local business owners, although anyone who can hold an interesting conversation for a half hour or so, and maybe even bring some new listeners, is welcome. So, spread the word, and look for the debut edition of The Craig Mahoney Podcast coming your way next week.

Of course, that's one of the reasons I started this drawing a day exercise. To get better in areas I'm not expert in. The cigar's getting closer, though. Hey, welcome to 2010, kids. A decade into the 21st century & I still have neither a jetpack nor a robot maid. Somebody got some 'splainin to do there. Huh, Mr. Scientist? Mr. Fancy Pants White Lab Coat? Where's my JETPACK?!

Anyway, I've got a few new features I'll be adding to this blog over the next week or two, but the first one that I'm bringing to you fine folks here on this first Monday morning of 2010, your first work day of the new decade, is my Drawing of the Day (!!!). Huh, how about that?! Think of it as my gift to you to brighten your miserable little day.

I'll be posting something new every goddamned day, whether it be a quick li'l sketch on a cocktail napkin or a full-blown painted illustration. I figure it would be a nice way to constantly bring new content to the blog, but to also try some new stuff myself: new mediums, new styles, new ideas, whatever. And, here's the best part: every single f***ing one will be available for purchase! That's right. I just wanted to post something quick to Ye Olde Blogge, whilst I count down the remaining hours of the Julian calendar, and who better to close out the year with than the greatest closer of all time? (Shut up, Sox & Mets fans) I hope you've all made your peace with the rape-in-a-back-alley that was 2009 & are looking forward to some sweet, tender lovin' from 2010. I know I've made my resolutions, and, if I manage to keep all of them, you'll all be referring to me as Grand Overlord Mahoney by the fall. However, it's more likely that I'll just keep the small ones, which means LOTS more content coming to the blog, a new website, new original music, and new art shows w/ some completely different types of art than you've seen from me before. And, that's just the first half of the year.

So, I hope you all have a happy & safe New Year. I myself will be spending it at home in the Mahoney Mansion. I'll be sitting by the fire with my feet on a log, the Mick on my lap, a glass of scotch in one hand, a glass of brandy in the other, my manservant Tebor curled up at my feet, and a prayer in my heart that the friend of mine who's been banging my ex-wife drives his drunk ass right into a telephone pole on his way to hell.

Nature Girl?

Her's a preliminary sketch of a piece I'll be painting this week. Not exactly sure what it means or what I'll be calling it, I just got the image in my head and decided I would do this as my entry in an upcoming mixed-media show. I'll be doing it in a mix of oils & acrylics, with some photo elements filling out the leaves & trees, and maybe even some charcoal or pastel highlights. I don't know. As a self-taught artist/musician, it's rare that I have any idea what in the hell I'm doing, but here I'm really flying blind. I'm just trying to get out of my comfort zone artistically, and break free from the "sports/portrait artist" label. Feel free to comment.

All Sorts of News

Hey, kids. I know I haven't posted anything of interest in a helluva long time, but that's all about to change. After the craziness of getting ready for the show at Jamian's I took some time off, then dove right into the craziness of following the Yankees on their World Series run, picking up extra shifts at my day job to climb out of debt, and putting together a weekly music gig. Now that most of that is settled and humming along smoothly I've got all sorts of new craziness to announce.

On Wed, Dec 16th I'll be doing my usual gig at The Wine Loft in Pier Village, but I'll also be doing a Toys for Tots fund raiser that night. So come by for a little Christmas cheer for yourself, and bring an unwrapped toy to give a less fortunate li'l guy or gal some of their own.
Every month In Spirit Living, a yoga studio here in Long Branch, hosts a different art show. I will be contributing 2 pieces to their Jan show that will be wildly different from anything you've seen from me yet. It should be cool, and I will, of course, be posting the progress of those pieces in this space.
Following that, I'll be having another solo show in Feb. This one will be at the aforementioned Wine Loft and the theme is going to be "Jazz and Cocktails". It's going to be a nice little departure from the portraiture and sports art I've been specializing in. The work is going to be a little looser and not as super hyper-detailed as my past work. The focus will be more on setting a mood or feeling through color and composition.
Speaking of my sports art. I'm working on what could be 2 very big things involving that. It's way to early in the planning/negotiating stages to say anything yet, but I'll be talking about it more in the future.
I'm also working on a video piece that (I hope) will be up on the blog in the next week and a half. After that I'm gonna try and post at least one little video on the blog a week.

Weds Just Got Better

Tomorrow night and every other Wed, from 7:30-midnight, you can catch me doing my solo acoustic thing @ The Wine Loft, Pier Village in Long Branch, NJ. For those of you who've seen me before, you know the deal. 4 hours of me doing the one-man-band thing and running through the last 50 years of popular music. This ain't some navel-gazing, coffee house, folkie acoustic gig. It's a party. So, come on down, drink up, and sing out. The first few nights have been great, and tomorrow, being Thanksgiving Eve and all, should kick a roomful of asses.

If you don't know about the Wine Loft, it's a sweet, hip lounge right on the water in Long Branch's Pier Village. Yes, they specialize in wine, but they also have a great food menu, all the liquor you could ever want, and even a few good beers by the bottle. And, if you show up early on Weds, you'll catch the tail end of their weekly free wine tasting, held every Wed from 5-7pm. Bottom line: Wed night @ The Wine Loft is the new awesome. 2 days to go till the opening of my show and I'm basically going without sleep to finish everything up. I all but wrapped up the Sinatra piece yesterday, so, with the exception of a touch-up here or there on some pieces, the only one unfinished is the Michael Jordan painting. That will give me 7 paintings to display in addition to a few drawings. I was hoping to have 1 or 2 more paintings, but work like mine just takes so much damn time, and I decided I'd rather not sacrifice quality for quantity.

Hittin' the homestretch now. I'm not expecting too much sleep this next week as I try to finish up the 3 pieces I have left. With the exception of some light cosmetic touches on the James Bond and Mickey Mantle pieces, all I have left to finish are the Jordan, Sinatra, and LT ones. That's a lot to handle in a week, and if I have to do the show without one, I'm willing to sacrifice the LT. There will be other opportunities. The one thing I do not want to do is sacrifice quality for quantity. But, I'm gonna try my damnedest to show up Wed morning ready to hang 8 kick-ass paintings. Man, I hope this show's successful enough that I can finally start doing this close to full-time. The whole "waking up early in the morning to get some painting in before my barshift" thing is gettin' old. 5 days a week in the studio & 2 nights behind the bar sounds good to me.

Anyway, here's where I'm @ w/ the Mickey Mantle piece. I've got a full day to myself in the studio tomorrow & I'll spend it all killing myself to get this done. If I can have it done by late tomorrow night or early Monday morn, there's no reason that I shouldn't have the Connery Bond piece done by Tuesday. That'll put me reasonably on schedule for Oct 1st, as long as I don't need too much sleep.

Less than 4 weeks away, and I'm officially in "8am-2am 7 days a week" mode for the rest of the month. With any luck, this show goes well enough that I'll be able to prepare for my next one without having to work two other jobs to keep the bills paid while I do it.

Here's a bit more of that Mantle piece I started the other day. There won't be much else done today as I've got to work another double, but, by the end of the weekend, I'll have every piece I want done for this thing roughed out and ready for more detailed work Monday morning.

I can't believe it's been a week and a half since my last blog post. Slacker! Actually, while I may have been slacking on the blogging, I was plenty busy. I've been spending nearly all day every day either painting, tending bar, or both. I've also been trying to keep up with my twitter and facebook updates, so, if you aren't already a twitter follower or facebook fan, get on that.

Here's an update of where everything stands right now as far as the artwork I've got done for the show. I've got 3 finished pieces, 2 half-finished pieces, and 3 others I'll be starting soon. And, only a month left to get it all done! Needless to say, I'll be bartending a bit less in September - and sleeping much less.

Trying not to choke as I near the 18th hole on this Tiger painting. Ahem. Anyway, I spent most of the day putting the finishing touches on his hat and getting the details in on his face.

Hoping to have the head done late tonight then whack out the shirt and other arm by the time I gotta go tend bar tomorrow. There won't be nearly as much work on the rest of it as there was on his face and fist.

The most intricate & problematic part of the Tiger painting has been completed & my cold seems to be going away. I'm jacked up on more vitamins right now than I can count and feeling 10x better than I was the last 2 days, so hopefully things run much smoother from here on out and I'm able to pick up the pace. I'm bartending the next 5 nights, so I'll only be able to squeeze in a few hours a day @ the easel. Here's hoping I can make the most of 'em.

Had every intention of pounding thru yesterday and today and finishing up that Tiger painting by tomorrow. Instead I spent the last 2 days in bed fighting a cold and just some general fatigue. Need to rest up if I'm gonna be spending the next month & 1/2 burning the candle at all ends. I've actually moved a mattress into the studio to deal with it. I know I've been off the grid for the past few days. I had a loooong weekend between my bartending gig and filling in on camera for Monmouth Park's TV dep't on Haskell Day (and, if you think there's not a big 'Rachel Alexandra wins The Haskell' planned for Jamian's you're crazy). It actually took me till today to finally get my ass out of bed and in gear to do some real work. So, I will definitely have updated studio pics for you later today. Tyler Kepner's got a great article in the NY Times this morning about how the Yankees are far more prepared to take on the Sox this go around than they were earlier this season. I'd link to a story in the Daily News but reading Lupica or Raismann's take on anything involving the Yanks is like watching a Goebbels film to learn about the Torah.

Speaking of that little piece of shit Lupica, Deadspin takes him to task in what I can only hope is the first of a series of "Real Tales of Mike Lupica". Great stuff about a small man and his giant ego.

The Onion's A.V. Club knocked two out of the park this morning with Sean O'Neal's hilarious Daily Buzzkill on NBC's scorched earth tactics to get you to watch Leno's sure-to-be-shitty 10pm show. And, Nathan Rabin turned in another great "My Year Of Flops" casefile (and, if you haven't read any of them, you should really go back and read ALL of them) on Nic Cage's 1991 straight-to-dvd flop 'Zandalee' that literally had me laughing out loud.

I was standing behind this girl in line @ Kinko's & wondering whether she actually thought they looked good or just saw them in some fashion mag & didn't want to be left out of the next trend. I felt a little bad for her. Still, I'll bet she's the cutest girl in The Shire.

After a long bartending shift last night, I slept in this morning, something I rarely get to do with a hyper active dog in the apt, but The Mick was generous and let me sleep till noon after getting to bed @ 4:30. So, no painting got done as I spent much of the day cooking, cleaning, gloating over David Ortiz's outing as a 'roid user, and - oh yeah - the flyer for my art show:

That's right, complimentary food, wine, and beer. I still have to pick a food menu, but the beers will most likely be Guinness, Yuengling, and Long Trail Pale Ale. Hey, when I throw a party I don't skimp.

First Public Show This Oct!

Just a quick post to get back on track here and let everyone know I finally booked my first public show @ Jamian's in Red Bank this Oct (here's more info on Jamian's gallery). My stuff will be hanging on the walls all month and will even include some new types of art you haven't seen from me before.

So, the next two months are going to be a bowlful of insanity as I try to get as much humanly possible done for this thing. Be sure to follow the madness here, on my twitter account, and on the official CM Studios facebook page.

Below are previews of some of the things I'm working on. There's the beginnings of a 24"x36" Tiger Woods painting and some sketches for a series of paintings I'm calling 'Retro-Action' that are my cartoony way of expressing my love for mid-20th century pop culture, from B-movies to film noir to comic books and more.

And, yes, there's also a picture of 2 stick figures fucking.

I'm not sleeping" - U2, Bad

After a month breaking my ass putting the new studio together, putting together all that Giants art, doing a few commissioned portraits, some side jobs, a few odd jobs, and my 4 nights a week bartending, I spent the last 2 days pretty much doing nothing but sleeping.

However, I wake up to a world where my bills are finally getting paid, the summer has arrived, I've just about locked down a spot for my first public exhibition in October, and I'm chock full of ideas for new pieces to put on the walls up there.

I also wake up to a world where the Yankees seem to be getting back on track and making a run for the division again. I will actually be making my first trek to the new Big Church in the Bronx tonight with my old man to see Joba try and lead the Yanks past the Seattle Mariners. So, check back here all night as I'll be posting pics and comments live from the stadium to both the blog and my twitter feed.

Tomorrow, I'll begin posting some of the new stuff I'll be working on.

Now, that I have that Giants Super Show out of the way, and finished these commissions that were due this week, I'm finally moving on to more of the art that I hope will define me from now on. I've got a few more sports art pieces I want to finish, so I can finally go out and start selling that portfolio. Then, I want to do a series of jazz inspired pieces, a series of portraits of women (kind of sexy, but not cheesecake, pin-up stuff), and maybe even just some plein air landscapes.

I'm working on hooking up a public showing in October, and then spending the rest of summer prepping for that.

Starting next week, I'll also be posting videos up here. Some will be video of me in the studio. Some will be comedy bits. But, each week I'll post a video of me performing a different song, and every other week will be a new original song that I've written. I'm sure half of them will be crap, but with kind of output there's bound to be a few gems.

Back Monday

I'm finishing up a commission piece that's being given as a gift, and, therefore, do not want to post pics and spoil the surprise. I'll be getting back to work on other projects Sunday and will start posting regularly Monday. Enjoy the weekend, kids. My advice is to be sure to have an umbrella and cocktail handy.

Baseball Season

After three straight weeks in the studio doing nothing but football, I'm letting those LT & Osi pieces marinate for a little bit while I move onto some baseball stuff. Below are two pieces I started last winter but let coagulate during that whole "getting a divorce/moving the studio/depressed and broke/why, god, why, won't it ever stop f***ing raining?!?!" period that I went through during the early part of the year.

However.

I am now in a solid groove and CM Studios is just about fully up and running. So, back to work I go on these two lovely pieces which should be up for your viewing and purchasing pleasure within the next 2 or 3 weeks. Ladies and gentlemen, you know 'em, you love 'em: Joltin' Joe Dimaggio and Mariano Rivera!

(Trust me, they're gonna look great.)

Giant and Yankee Art Sale

Now, that all the craziness of moving the studio and prepping for that Giants show is over, I'm finally getting down to the business of business. The new CM Studios Facebook page is up, I've got the Twitter feed rolling, and, soon, I'll even have the new website up and running as well. You'll also notice the look of this blog changing (if you haven't already). The groundwork is being laid for a long, successful run here @ CMS, but, this being the real world and all, I gots to pay me some bills to keep it rolling. So, the following is a quick inventory of all original artwork still in my possession and up for sale (and, whaddaya know, it's all Yankee and Giant stuff).
